Stela fragment of Merymose
General Information

The lower part of a limestone stela. On the upper part of the fragment are the feet of a standing figure, facing left, below which are three lines of hieroglyphs. The stela was dedicated to the viceroy Merymose by his sandal-bearer.

General Comments

Merymose lived during the reign of Amenhotep III from other sources. His tomb is probably from Qurnet Mura'i at Thebes, many funerary cones bearing his name have come from there.

Translation

An offering which the king gives [to] Osiris, that he may give invocation offerings of bread and beer, oxen and fowl, and every good and pure thing, for the Ka of the King's son of Kush, Merymose, by the servant who causes his name to live, the Sandal-bearer of the King's son, Amenemwia.
